What We Believe
Family Life Christian Center is a church family. We have an assignment from the Lord to reach a lost world with the good news of Jesus Christ. Our message is unchanging. Our methods are constantly changing and improving. Family Life will aggressively implement various methods in our desire to connect with those who are away from God. Instead of isolating ourselves from our culture, we have chosen to invade it so we can reach the people for whom Christ died and show them God’s love. Although our church is not traditional, we maintain a conservative theological position.
The Bible – God wrote a book
The Bible is God’s Word to all people. It was penned by human authors under the divine guidance and inspiration of the Holy Spirit. Because the Bible is inspired by God, it is truth without any mixture of error and is completely relevant to daily living.
Salvation – God’s only way
The blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the only way of salvation through the forgiveness of sins. Salvation occurs when people place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin and receive Him as Lord and Savior. Salvation is a gift from God and cannot be earned through our own efforts.
Eternity – God created us to live forever
Man was created to exist forever. He will either exist eternally separated from God through sin or in union with God through salvation and the forgiveness of sin. Heaven and hell are places of eternal existence. To be eternally separated from God is hell. To be eternally in union with God is eternal life.
Jesus Christ – God became man
Jesus Christ is completely human and at the same time completely God. He is the only plan for bringing people who are enemies of God back into a right relationship with God. He lived a perfect sinless life. He alone is our substitute for sin, satisfying God’s demands for atonement. He defeated death in His resurrection so we could have life.
The Holy Spirit – God is always present
The presence of the Holy Spirit assures us of our relationship with Christ. He guides believers into all truth, and exalts Christ. He convicts people of their sin. He comforts us. He gives us spiritual gifts, and makes us more like Christ. He endues us with supernatural power through the baptism in the Holy Spirit. We believe it is the will of God for all believers to be filled with the Holy Spirit.
Healing – God wants us well
Healing is available today just as it was when Jesus walked the earth. Jesus bore stripes on His back to redeem us from sickness and disease. The healing Jesus paid for is not just physical, but emotional as well. We as believers are to lay hands on the sick in Jesus’ name, to bring healing and wholeness to a hurting world.
The Church – God’s plan for a family and community
The church is the family of God. The church is a local community of believers unified through faith in Christ. The church works together in love and unity and is committed to the teachings of Christ, to obeying all of His commands, and to raising up disciples of Christ. The mission of the church is to win a lost world to Jesus Christ.
